Sigita Grabliauskasite was born in 1962 in Marijampole city where she was raised, attended a school. She also went to children‘s art school. From 1980 to 1985 she studied glass art specialty in Kaunas department of Vilnius Art Academy. After graduation Sigita was assigned to work in Stepas Zukas applied arts technical college. The before mentioned facility slowly changed its status. Nowadays it is called Art and Education faculty of University of Applied Sciences Kauno Kolegija. The artist works there thus far as a docent, gives lectures to the young artists on various glass related specialties, curates graduating works of bachelor‘s studies. From 1987 S. Grabliauskaite commenced an active life in exhibitions: organized quite a few personal displays, also participated in numerous group expositions and symposia in Lithuania and abroad countries. From 1999 she is a member of Lithuanian artists‘ union. Even though she has realized many glass crockery and stained-glass pieces, her main focus is exhibitional artwork. Artist‘s range of professional interests engulfs mainly two fields – glass plaques and sculptures. Her creation is full of associations and symbols, which facilitate the realization and interpretation of ideas that are locked in S. Grabliauskaite artworks.
